Most briefs describe a symptom, not a problem. Before opening any dataset, I work with you to define the precise question the analysis must answer — using MECE issue trees to structure the problem space and identify what we are actually trying to decide.
Thorough exploratory analysis before any modeling. What variables exist, what is missing and why, what distributions reveal about the underlying process. Data quality is a first-class deliverable — not an obstacle to get past on the way to modeling.
